Night Signal is a dark ground study of Dokpa Garment, an apparel maker in Kathmandu working in outdoor and cold weather clothing. It is built from thirteen supplied photographs. What the camera shows gets written down. What it does not show stays blank.

01Scope

A study, not a shop

Nothing here can be bought, ordered, reserved or held. There is no figure for what anything costs, no count of what exists, and no promise that Dokpa will make you anything. A visitor who wants any of that has to ask Dokpa Garment and get an answer from Dokpa Garment.

02Method

The frame is the evidence

Every garment line on this site was typed with the photograph open beside it. Zips, pockets, snap studs, toggles, quilting: those are visible, so they are written. What a garment is made of, what is inside it and how it performs are not visible, so they are never named.

03Tool

The shortlist writes an email

Mark the garments you want to raise. The shortlist sits in your own browser, counts what you marked, and hands that list to your own mail app as an unsent draft. The page itself has no way to send anything to anyone.

Four fragments

Each of these is a hard crop of one supplied photograph. The crops are this study's own framing choice, made to read as detail rather than as a product shot. Nothing has been retouched, recoloured or rebuilt.

One address, two wards

Ward 9

The address supplied with the photographs reads Purano Samyukta Buspark, Bhangal, Budanilkantha-9, Kathmandu, Nepal. That is printed on this site exactly as it was handed over.

Ward 8

An independent map listing found during research places the same business in ward 8 instead. It is a directory entry, not a statement by Dokpa Garment.

This study does not pick a winner. Two sources disagree, neither has been confirmed by the owner, and guessing which one is right would put a wrong address in front of somebody trying to find a real workshop. The ward is one of the questions on the confirmation list. Everything else in the address is common to both sources.
